Tree & Shrub Planting
Trees and shrubs are a great investment for your garden, and add elements of beauty into your yard. If you’re interested in garden trees and shrubs, we’ll help you decide the best plants to choose from based on the layout of your space. A site assessment allows us to conduct chemical and physical soil testing as well as species requirement analyses.
These analyses and tests help determine the best timing and space requirements for each plant, and the Green Circles staff will prepare, amend, and cultivate your garden shrubs and plants, installing plants in a way that helps them to easily integrate into their new environment. We’ll also gladly aid in any ongoing maintenance to maintain the health of the trees and shrubs within your landscape.
Decorative Seasonal Pots
We supply and install plants or decoratives perfectly suited for the season or the festive occasions – whether spring or summer seasonal arrangements, or specially tailored for Christmas, Halloween, or Thanksgiving.
If you need custom decorative arrangements for any occasion to place into your yard space, we can offer you the perfect solution.
Pruning
Pruning rules can vary between species – let us help you determine why pruning is required.
When considering the pruning of trees, shrubs, hedges, and perennials – three important questions should first be asked: Why, When, and How.
There are thousands of academic articles on the subject of pruning, and the correct pruning method can provide many benefits in the long-term, such as increased flower and fruit production, improved bark and stem colour, size and growth control, increased health and vigor, as well as assisting recovery from and preventing future specimen injury.
The Green Circles Method:
Green Circles will assess your pruning needs based on maintaining the plant material at optimal health, training and pruning away from obstructions or toward a specific shape, restricting growth, or improving fruiting and flower production.
Our staff will:
- Correctly cut and remove all determined plant material as pertaining to disease, wind or snow damage, dead or dying branches.
- Use corrective pruning methods on branches to open the canopy.
- Make cuts clean and smooth following the listed techniques and best practices for the plant.
- Disinfect all cutting tools with alcohol or bleach (sodium hypochlorite) to prevent the spread of disease between cuts as well as between jobs.
Visiting to prune early growth on hedges, shrubs, and trees, we will clean and remove all debris and leave your yard space refreshed and beautiful.
Winter Protection
Over-winter protection for plants are crucial for shielding from harsh elements such as snow, ice load, damage by wildlife and other animals, and wind gusts. We wrap and tie plant materials with strong burlap, and further mulch and hill plants with soil to protect from root damage from harsh or rapid temperature changes during the winter season.
